Sandra Dawson is an Associate Tax Partner with EY who leads the Insurance Tax practice within the Financial Services Organisation. She has 20 years’ experience advising domestic and international insurance companies on structuring and Irish tax matters. She has assisted many international insurance companies to establish operations in Ireland to sell into the EU.
Since joining EY, Sandra has been involved in a number of large projects involving insurance company and related service provider set-ups, international tax structuring, demutualisation, mergers as well as the provision of day-to-day advice. She has extensive experience in international tax structuring, cross-border planning, global tax minimisation strategies and assisting clients in overseas markets. Sandra has conducted a number of balance sheet reviews, for major international groups, from a tax perspective for the purposes of conversion to IFRS, US GAAP and Canadian GAAP. She has assisted clients with transfer pricing and related issues.
Sandra has spoken at both domestic and international conferences and has written numerous articles in relation to insurance. Sandra holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University College Dublin. She is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and an associate of the Irish Taxation Institute and is also a member of An Taoiseach’s Insurance Group.
