EY Financial Services is delighted to announce that Martina Keane, Partner and Head of Assurance, has won the Accountancy Leader of the Year accolade at the 2019 Women in Finance Awards.
Commenting on the win, Martina said, “It is an honour to be recognised at the Women in Finance Awards. Like all industries, financial services firms are facing some of the biggest challenges the workplace has ever seen, brought about by advances in technology, increased regulation and evolving attitudes to work.
“I am passionate about helping clients to navigate those challenges and I believe that successfully doing this requires a diverse pool of talent and thought, which is why I am a strong advocate for equality at all levels of business.

Martina leads the Assurance practice in EY Financial Services and was commended for its expansion under her leadership. In the past 12 months, this has included the opening of a new financial services office in Cork and the establishment of a new Financial Accounting Advisory Services team.
The Accountancy Leader of the Year award also acknowledges Martina’s work to promote diversity and inclusiveness within the workforce.
In her role, Martina is responsible for the development and leadership of over 350 professionals. She is a founding member of EY’s Financial Services Women in Leadership committee and a supporter of Triple FS, a recently launched initiative that focuses on increasing female leadership in the FS industry in Ireland through a unique mentorship programme.
Martina joined EY in 1999 and was made a partner in 2009. She holds a Master’s in Accounting from University College Dublin and is a qualified chartered accountant. Read more about Martina.
The Women in Finance Awards recognise exceptional female talent across the finance industry and aim to tackle the gender imbalance by showcasing the achievements of women in the sector and identifying new role models.
The award was presented at the Women in Finance Awards 2019 Dinner on 28 November 2019 at Clontarf Castle, Dublin.
